At Bannockburn P-12 College, we believe that strong literacy skills are the foundation for lifelong learning.

Our English and Literacy programs inspire students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage creatively with the world around them. Throughout the year, we celebrate literacy with a range of writing competitions, fostering creativity and confidence in our students. We also collaborate with the local newspaper to showcase student work, providing authentic publishing opportunities.

In the Later Years, we offer an Advanced English stream to challenge and extend students, while our VCE program focuses on English, we support select students undertaking studies at the Centre for Higher Education Studies in English Language, and work closely with Virtual Schools Victoria to offer Literature to our students. We also provide a Vocational Major Literacy pathway tailored to real-world applications.

We transfer a passion for the written word through careful studies of picture books in Prep all the way through to Shakespeare in Year 12. Our diverse range of texts lead to dynamic classroom discussions, and real-world writing opportunities.
